Sixteen-year-old Morgan has never heard of Wicca-modern witchcraft-until she meets Cal. Then everything changes-almost overnight. Morgan knows that witchcraft can be dangerous and that her birth parents died because of their involvement. But witchcraft is a part of Morgan in a way she can't ignore, and now that she's practicing Wicca, her powers are increasing. Her boyfriend Cal is a witch, too. He believes that they are muirn beatha dans, witches who are meant to be together, to love one another. But the sudden appearance of Hunter, a stranger who claims to be Cal's brother, threatens to ruin everything. Hunter says that Cal is practicing dark magic. And Morgan feels unsure. Could it be true?First of all, I was a huge fan of the first two books. I loved seeing one girl (and all her friends and enemies) journey into Wicca, something I am not all too familiar with. I loved seeing Morgan find her inner witch in the first two books and reading the fast-paced stories. That said, I didn’t love this book as much as the first two.
Morgan is really beginning to branch out, but she continues to keep secrets from everyone around her. She hasn’t completely found herself, but she keeps finding out secrets about herself that make her mind spin. I’m beginning to consider if Cal is really the perfect guy you are led to believe he is. His dark secrets are beginning to come out and I am sure there will be more revealed in the next twelve books.
The writing in these books is fantastic. It’s descriptive without touching on every single detail about every little thing. It’s fast-paced, usually. I didn’t find this book to be as much of a page turner as the first two books and I think that is mostly because the first few chapters were just a recap of the first two books.
The story in this one was pretty lame for me. Not enough happened. The first two books were packed with exciting things happening, but this one just revealed more secrets and made you think about the characters and their true intentions. You didn’t see a lot of the magick that you did in previous books, something I was really missing.
Though I didn’t adore this book like I did the first couple, it is still a great addition to a series that I think will be one of my favorites. It kept me reading with its great characters, spectacular writing, and secrets that continue to be revealed. This is a great series and I am so happy I have twelve more books to look forward to before it’s over.

Woot woot, I lurve these books. Keep reading, they get better.
ReplyDeleteI loved these books! I was only able to get through the first 7 because I couldn't the others, but I assure you that they get better! In my opinion they did at least. :-)
